You may have heard that Google is changing its support function and shutting their office based in Leeds. We can now confirm and share with you that this is true.
As of yesterday, many of the Google Partner support team members that agencies have been assigned over the past 12 months will be leaving, or finishing their final days in preparation for the office to close (we believe at the end of this at the end of the year but this is not confirmed by Google officially). We have been told on good authority that select managers may be remaining until the end of December, but it seems this will only be a small minority.
Google’s official statement (as shared from one of our old support team):
Google is making some changes to our dedicated Agency team, with the aim of continuing to provide you high quality, efficient support.
Meanwhile, our team of Google AdWords online specialists are ready to help. You can reach them by phone, email or online chat—plus the Google Advertiser Community and AdWords Help Center have tons of useful information and answers to quick questions.
I wish you all the best moving forward.

So what happens now?
If you are one of the unlucky ones, you may not have heard anything about this change in advance. We don’t know what is in store for all the agencies losing their Partner support teams, as Google is yet to release any more information. We will update this article with new information as it comes to light.
I write this article with a heavy heart, and I’m sure many of you reading this will relate, we have been blessed with some excellent people on our Partner support team this year. We are very sad to be losing them and it is an unfortunate situation as Google relocates to Barcelona leaving all of those who can not move with them behind.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone leaving the Leeds Partner Support Team the very best of luck, whatever their future endeavors may be. We have truly enjoyed working with you, and hope Google can provide support that will be able to fill the big boots you have left behind.
